Mount shared a video of his first rehearsal for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The actor is seen wearing a safety harness and stunt wires and being dropped from a height to make the perfect landing. The actor probably had to wait months before being able to reveal the four-second clip, to ensure that the Black Bolt’s appearance in the film remained a secret. While the Illuminati was mentioned in the trailers for the film, it wasn’t confirmed who the members were.

When arriving on the set of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Mount claimed to feel welcomed by “the incredible stunt team and producer Richie Palmer.” He joked about his appearance in the behind-the-scenes video, which is obviously not what his character looks like on screen. Prior to filming the scene featured in the most recent Marvel Studios outing, Mount must have undergone stunt rehearsals, which is where the video comes from.
This isn’t the first time that Mount has featured as the hero Black Bolt, though. The character’s first live-action appearance was featured in the series Inhumans and Mount portrayed the hero as part of it. It seems like Marvel is making a habit of introducing characters from the independent series into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Mount joins Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, who was introduced into the MCU as part of Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, who made his MCU debut in Hawkeye.
Apart from Mount’s Black Bolt, the Illuminati featured an interesting array of characters from the comics. Patrick Stewart’s Professor Charles Xavier was the one who received the warmest welcome from MCU fans, considering it was finally connecting the Avengers to the X-Men universe. John Krasinski’s Reed Richards worked as the perfect fan service, as many hoped he would be cast in the upcoming Fantastic Four film. It was refreshing for fans to see Lashana Lynch as Captain Marvel, after seeing her play the hero’s closest friend Maria Rambeau in 2019’s Captain Marvel. And lastly, Hayley Atwell finally made her live-action appearance as Captain Carter.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is playing in theaters.
