To explore all the hidden corners of the wood, one will need a lot of time. That’s what makes teleportation necessary in Blacktail, as every time Yaga regains a part of her lost memories, a new area unlocks. As a result, the journey will only get more difficult for players who are eager to leave no main or side quest behind. Moreover, interacting with the Blackcat in the forest will immediately introduce Yaga to the first fast-traveling option available in Blacktail.

How To Teleport In Blacktail

Teleporting or fast traveling in Blacktail can be done using three methods:

Blackcat Blink Idols Twin Idols

How To Use The Blackcat

The Blackcat is the first fast travel option available in Blacktail. To use it, players need to interact with the Blackcat near some campfires or Shrines to teleport right back to The Hut. The latter is located at the center of the map, making it a point of intersection for all the surrounding areas. Therefore, it is easier for players to continue their journey in the newly opened area after completing a chapter in the main story.

Another advantage of The Hut is that players can upgrade Yaga’s skills and store away all the items and trophies they’ve collected. It is also the place where pet lovers can pet the blue-eyed Blackcat by placing a Fishbone in its bowl.

The Blink Idols are found all over the map grounds to facilitate players’ exploration and to aid them in climbing unreachable heights. It is unlocked as a teleportation option after completing Dragoy’s story and collecting his Doll. To use them, players need to shoot an arrow through the Blink Idol to leap toward it. In a matter of moments, Yaga can be transported from the forest ground to the top of a mountain using this fast travel option in Blacktail. However, it can be inconvenient to teleport from one area to another as it is bound by the arrow’s range.

How To Use The Twin Idols

The Twin Idols can also be found scattered around the map in Blacktail. They are unlocked after completing Slavitza’s story and collecting her Doll. Using the Twin Idols can be a little confusing and random to some players, but understanding how the statue teleportation mechanic works is relatively easy. Upon opening the map, players can see that every two Idols are marked with a unique color. A Twin Idol can only be used to teleport to another with the same color, so to use them, players must:

Open the map to see the Twin Idol’s colors. Pick the Twin Idol that’s nearest to the desired location. Interact with the Twin Idol to fast travel.

Blacktail is now available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
